1:33 p.m. - 2004-07-03 However, Friday was a busy day with me running all over les grandes buttes de Seattle. Saints be praised I was not wearing totally stupid shoes, else my fate would have been more sealed than a lickless envelope. Working on a follow-up story to something that does not necessarily need following up, but methinks my editor is humoring me. Which is juuuust fine! This has been a really fun week, especially since I got to spy on someone on Thursday. Wheee! Espionage is pretty much a lifelong dream of mine, realized in terrifying technicolor for forty short minutes. I'm loving the Strangers, some much more than others...I wonder if there is a subtle, non-condemning way to ask what the policy on hooking up with others in the office is... Speaking of, the terribly, terribly famous editor-in-chief, a one DAN SAVAGE totally checked out my ass. I saw it! Which is doubtless connected to the fact that I am losing weight, which is always a good thing. And since my plans to go to Canada and/or Bellingham seem quite foiled, it is quite lucky that one of my Stranger-mates invited me to celebrate my absence of patriotism at the home of the very ass-cruiser himself! I guess Dan and his lovah live on Vashon Island, which means I get to take the ferry again. Surely, one of my favorite things in this life is the Washington State Ferry. I feel a little bit like I might be losing my mind ever so slightly. But I just saw a Japanese man jingling keys for his crying g.d. baby to play with. Not surprisingly, it didn't work. Maybe this is just a sign that the world is descending further into its own madness, and I have no choice but to follow.
