2:00 p.m. - 2003-10-22 Anyway...went on a series of dates with my friend Erin, all of which was set to climax with the Sedaris reading. For me, the evening shot its wad at a little bar called the Depot, where I saw Christian. The most lustable man I have encountered in my life, even if his hairline may or may not be receding (which really makes a case for him sleeping with me while he still can). And I spoke to him, if only in the way that mortals can speak to such gods. I remember, the morning of the wedding I woke up frighteningly early, and sat in the lodge, watching him clean scrape a cooking surface-thingy. Back and fourth across the surface, arms flexing, grimacing a little...it was one of the most erotic things I have ever seen. Believe it. Yeah, so, I spoke to him. I made my exit a quick one as I was holding a chair and he was with people. On to more pertinent matters...David Sedaris was fantastic, of course. He read mostly new stuff, answered questions, stuck around for a signing afterwards. I tried to wait for a while, but lost hope after half an hour. The heat of the theatre sapped my will to meet him, to express my joy at his very existence and compare notes on our franco-schooling experience. So instead, I headed for the hills and went and found people to raise hell with until a rather ungodly hour, prompting me to sleep through my first class. Yay! And now a rather hell-beast-y series of deadlines is upon me. Off I go.
